At South by Southwest, festivalgoers in need a of some downtime tweeted #VRonDemand, and our street teams showed up on Austin’s iconic pedicabs with Gear VR, Samsung’s virtual reality device, and a fantastical far-away VR travel experience. In just four days, we delivered 350 firsthand trial experiences and clocked 305MM social impressions—even non-SXSW-ers tweeted to get in on the VR action.
For the new Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline, we launched a cross-country Drivers Relay starting with a custom-built pop-up Shell station in Times Square. Passionate celebrity drivers like Carson Daly and Mario Andretti tag-teamed 3,000 miles via Chicago and Las Vegas events, ending at Jay Leno’s iconic garage in Los Angeles. The finish line: more than 150 media placements, $18.5 million in publicity value, and ultimately a 10% increase in V-Power sales volume in just three weeks.
